About
Teaching careful crypto mining from a Shepparton workbench
Appgroveway is a registered education practice focused on practical crypto mining education for home and small-shed operators across regional Victoria.
Official business name & history
The official registered business name is Appgroveway. The practice was established in 2019 after Owen Jess spent several years helping neighbours in the Goulburn Valley interpret retailer quotes for noisy second-hand miners. Early sessions were informal evening tutorials in a rented shed bay; by 2021 the work had grown into scheduled workshops and written lesson materials under the Appgroveway name.
In 2023 the classroom moved to rooms at 670 Goulburn Valley Hwy,Shepparton North,VIC,3631,Australia, where group days and consultations still run today.
Mission
Give newcomers enough crypto mining education to decide whether a build belongs in their home, and enough practical skill to assemble and monitor a small setup safely if they proceed.
Working approach
Owen teaches with open cost sheets rather than hype. Lessons emphasise electricity tariffs, heat, noise, and maintenance hours before any talk of returns. Demonstrations use classroom hardware; learners keep ownership of their purchasing decisions.
Values
- Honest wattage and tariff maths over optimistic hashrate screenshots
- Respect for neighbours sharing fences and party walls
- Clear boundaries between education and product sales
- Small class sizes so regional shed layouts get real attention
Community focus
Most learners travel from Shepparton, Mooroopna, and surrounding towns. Online tutoring is offered when a machine is already on your bench and travel is impractical.
